About

Echo Playbook started as a shared notes doc between a few friends who kept texting each other stuck on the same boss fights and grinding the same resource walls. At some point the notes got so long we figured we might as well clean them up and put them online. That's the whole origin story — no marketing plan, just people who like finishing games.,Everything you read here comes from real sessions. We install a game, play it properly for days or weeks, and only then write about it. If a game bores us halfway through, we say so. If a control scheme fights us on a small screen, that goes in the review too.,We pick games based on what's actually getting downloaded and talked about, mixed with the odd hidden gem we stumble onto. Genre doesn't matter much to us — a good racing game and a good card game both deserve a proper look. We try to cover a spread so there's something here whether you like slow strategy or fast arcade runs.,Nobody pays us to write nice things, and we don't sell the games we cover. The site runs lean and the goal is simple: be the guide we'd want to read ourselves.
